Per consentire l'accesso alle risorse elettroniche, acquistate dall’Ateneo (banche dati, periodici e libri elettronici etc.), da casa, o da qualsiasi luogo al di fuori della rete dell'Ateneo, è stato realizzato un servizio di proxy, valido per tutte le tipologie di risorse digitali sottoscritte.
Per usarlo, durante la navigazione, è necessario configurare il browser predefinito secondo le seguenti indicazioni:

Se si utilizzano Edge o Google Chrome

  1. Cliccare sull'icona con i tre puntini in alto a destra e selezionare la voce "Impostazioni"
  2. Nel campo di ricerca digitare "Proxy"
  3. Selezionare la voce "Apri le impostazioni proxy del computer"
  4. In "Rete e Internet" > "Proxy" selezionare la voce "Configurazione manuale proxy"
  5. Cliccare sull'icona [Configura]
  6. Attivare il servizio "Usa server proxy"
  7. Inserire l'Indirizzo IP proxy e la Porta rispettivamente 193.204.8.28 (proxy) e 3128 (porta)
  8. Salvare, chiudere il browser e poi riavviarlo

Se si utilizza Mozilla Firefox

  1. Cliccare sull'icona ≡ in alto a destra e selezionare la voce "Impostazioni"
  2. Selezionare la voce "Generale"
  3. Cercare "Impostazioni di rete" e cliccare sulla icona [Impostazioni]
  4. Selezionare "Configurazione manuale del proxy" ed alla voce "Proxy HTTP" inserire l'indirizzo del server e la porta rispettivamente 193.204.8.28 (proxy) e 3128 (porta)
  5. Spuntare la voce "Utilizza questo proxy anche per HTTPS"
  6. Cliccare su OK, chiudere il browser e poi riavviarlo

I docenti, i dottorandi e il personale all'inizio della navigazione dovranno inserire le credenziali personali Unicam.
Gli studenti, alla voce "nome utente" dovranno inserire: studenti\nome.cognome ed alla voce "password": la password di dominio identica a quella dell'account nome.cognome@studenti.unicam.it.

Configurazione di un server proxy su MacOS:

Aprire Preferenze di sistema facendo clic sulla sua icona annessa al dock, cliccare sull’icona di Rete, selezionare il nome della connessione in uso (es. Wi-Fi) e premere il bottone Avanzate… collocato in basso a destra.
Selezionare la scheda Proxy, apporre il segno di spunta accanto alla voce relativa al tipo di proxy da usare (in questo caso Proxy Web (HTTPS)), compilare i campi relativi a indirizzo: (193.204.8.28)  e porta: (3128) e cliccare su OK per salvare le impostazioni.
Al termine della sessione di navigazione, per disattivare l’uso del proxy basta tornare nelle schermata delle preferenze di sistema di MacOS e rimuovere la spunta dalle voci attivate in precedenza.

ATTENZIONE: l'utilizzo del proxy-server consente la consultazione, previa autenticazione, delle risorse online da casa, ma preclude l'accesso e l'utilizzo delle normali impostazioni di navigazione, per cui si consiglia di disattivarlo non appena si conclude la sessione di consultazione al fine di ristabilire una corretta configurazione dei servizi (navigazione e posta elettronica) di ogni Internet Service Provider privato.

To enable access to the University's subscribed electronic resources (databases, electronic journals, e-books, etc.) from home or from any location outside the University network, a proxy service has been implemented. This service is available for all subscribed digital resources.

To use the service, you must configure your preferred browser according to the instructions below.

If you use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome

  1. Click the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner and select Settings.
  2. In the search field, type Proxy.
  3. Select Open your computer's proxy settings.
  4. Under Network & Internet > Proxy, select Manual proxy setup.
  5. Click Configure.
  6. Enable the Use a proxy server option.
  7. Enter the proxy server IP address and port as follows:
    • Proxy server: 193.204.8.28
    • Port: 3128
  8. Save the settings, close the browser, and restart it.

If you use Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the ≡ icon in the upper-right corner and select Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. Scroll to Network Settings and click Settings....
  4. Select Manual proxy configuration.
  5. Under HTTP Proxy, enter:
    • Proxy server: 193.204.8.28
    • Port: 3128
  6. Check the option Use this proxy server for HTTPS as well.
  7. Click OK, close the browser, and restart it.

Faculty members, PhD candidates, and staff members must enter their personal UNICAM credentials when prompted at the beginning of the browsing session.

Students must enter:

Open System Preferences by clicking its icon in the Dock, then click the Network icon, select the active network connection (e.g., Wi-Fi), and click the Advanced... button located in the lower-right corner.

Select the Proxies tab, check the box next to the type of proxy to be used (in this case, Secure Web Proxy (HTTPS)), enter the server address (193.204.8.28) and port (3128), and click OK to save the settings.

At the end of the browsing session, to disable the proxy, simply return to the macOS System Preferences screen and remove the check mark from the options that were previously enabled.

Important Notice: The use of the proxy server allows authenticated access to online resources from home or any location outside the University network. However, it overrides the normal Internet browsing settings, which may affect access to other online services. For this reason, users are advised to disable the proxy as soon as their consultation session has ended, in order to restore the correct configuration of Internet services, including web browsing and email, provided by their Internet Service Provider (ISP).
